Excellent carrier for heavy kids.

We did a 3 week Japan trip in May 2024 (just getting around to writing the review now lol) and brought the coolmesh beco for our 30lb 3-year old (we had been using it for about 6 months previously, but the trip really put it through its paces) . We used it often during the trip for BOTH kids - Mostly our 3 year old, but I was able to carry our 64lb 5 year old in it as well as a "piggyback assist" - she wrapped her arms around my neck and the carrier held her legs without any visible straining during some of the longer walks in places like Ghibli Park and on Shikoku where the terrain was not stroller friendly. I am 5'6" with medium length torso and wide hips and I found wearing the carrier far more comfortable than my husband (5'11") because the waist straps sit right on my hips so that's what took most of the weight and I could wear it for 3-5hrs without too much issue.

However, hubby has a long torso, so even with the straps extended, the waist belt wouldn't sit right on his hips and caused a bit of back strain. Not a criticism, just something to be aware of. The carrier was easy to stuff into a smaller bag when not in use and we often put it in the basket of our gbpockit stroller when rolling around Tokyo and Osaka.

My 3 year old and my 1 yr old both fit great in the toddler carrier. It's comfortable, supportive, lightweight. It's great for short or long trips.

My son is 9 months and growing fast! This has been perfect a little big for him but he fits in it comfortably enough that he falls right to sleep during our walks! So I am pleased!!
